Due to limitations put in place by the South African Government on athlete numbers at sporting events, organisers of the IRONMAN African Championship have decided to postpone the 2021 event.

Originally slated to take place in Nelson Mandela Bay on March 14, 2021, the iconic event has been rescheduled for 21 November 2021.

Entries for the Biogen-backed 2021 IRONMAN African Championship had already reached capacity. All athletes registered for the IRONMAN African Championship should receive an e-mail with further information. Anyone with additional questions should contact southafrica@ironman.com.

The race would have offered 75 qualifying slots for the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship, which takes place in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i on 9 October.
