The iconic Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series will take the form of a 10km race series across three exhilarating events in three cities in 2022:

  1. Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K on Sunday 15 May
  2. Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K on Sunday 10 July
  3. Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K on Saturday 24 September

“Celebrated nationally, the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is a diverse road running series that brings together avid runners, walkers and individuals looking to live healthier lifestyles, all lining up with some of Africa’s greatest distance runners, while promising world-class achievement and fun for all participants,” explains Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series.

“This year we are excited to once again take the action to the streets of the three major cities. Although the emphasis will be placed on hosting a mass participation road race that highlights city landmarks, includes magnificent views and features lively performances from some of the host city’s leading performing arts groups, all three events will also boast an exciting Contender Programme aimed at the racing snakes.”

To qualify for prize money, entrants will need to apply to be part of the Contender Category.

Entries for the Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K opened on Tuesday 1 February. Entries for the Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K will open on Tuesday 8 March and Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K entries will open on Tuesday 5 April.

Athletes who want to enter all three events in the Absa RYC series can benefit from a special discounted entry fee. They will also receive a sponsor hamper, as well as all the special offerings and add-ons of all three races.
