President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announced on Sunday, 30 May 2021 that South Africa would return to Lockdown Level 2 in light of a possible third COVID-19 infection wave.
Consequently, Fedhealth Medical Scheme has decided to postpone the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run events that were scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5 June and Sunday, 6 June, respectively.
“We deeply regret having to postpone these events at ATKV Buffelspoort this coming weekend. But, as a responsible player in the health sector, Fedhealth is simply not willing to risk the health and safety of any participant at our events,” says Jeremy Yatt, Fedhealth Principal Officer.
“Furthermore, we fully support all government initiatives intended to prevent the spread of the pandemic and lower the pressure put on hospitals during this critical time.”
“We are optimistic that restrictions will ease over the coming months. By Monday, 7 June, we will confirm the new date for the 2021 event,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of event organisers Stillwater Sports.
In light of the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run being moved to a later date in 2021, existing entrants have three options to choose from:
- Rollover your entry to the new 2021 date. This date will be confirmed by Monday, 7 June 2021.
- Rollover your entry to the 2022 event.
- Request a full refund.
Once the new date is announced, existing entrants will have from 7–21 June 2021 to confirm their option choice. Entrants need to send a confirmation mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
